Lowndes Grove plantation is nestled on the banks of the beautiful Ashley river. It’s the perfect picturesque wedding venue for the southern bride and it never fails to host a jaw dropping ceremony or reception. The historic home is accompanied by plenty of land that can be customized for your big day so even though it is a popular venue, it will feel like it was made for you.
Although the William Aiken House is one of the smaller venues in Charleston, it makes up for lack of space with its character! Located right on King Street behind the infamous Notebook Theater sign, when the party’s over you and your guests can step out into the busiest nightlife in Charleston and continue the celebration! They also have a gorgeous and private outdoor area as you can see in the stunning pictures attached. This way you don’t have to choose between indoor and outdoor, you can have both!
The Governor Thomas Bennett House has the largest grounds out of all of the venues and is also one of the oldest and grandest historic Charleston homes. Equipped with gardens full of blooming flowers and romantic fountains, this estate has so many areas to be utilized. The perfect venue for a larger wedding with the ability to use all of the indoor and outdoor spaces.
The Dewberry is one of Charleston’s newest and most unique hotels. Located on Meeting Street in a repurposed federal office building, the hotel is Southern meets mid century modern. Besides the gorgeous suites and renowned spa, the Dewberry is the perfect venue for the eclectic bride. And with multiple ballrooms, an outdoor area and a rooftop, there are tons of options to fulfil a wedding vision.
The Gadsden house is located on Meeting Street and is a sight to see driving by. At night bubble lights can be seen hanging across the outdoor patio where lovers are having their first dance in front of all of their guests. This venue screams Charleston, but can be made to fit any desired ambiance with the help of a good wedding planner and florist!
